For those of you who want to scan directly to Microsoft Word or Excel, eCopy ShareScan now has that capability. You can use this new feature when scanning documents directly to Microsoft(R) Exchange and SharePoint, SMPT via LDAP, IBM(R) Lotus Notes (R) and network folders.
You can preserve the original scanned file by using ShareScan's document tracking. This will allow you to access the original scan prior to the conversion to Word or Excel.
Obviously, scanning directly to Word or Excel can save you time, if that is the format you require. If you are an existing maintenance customer, contact your reseller to receive an upgrade free.
Hey! great feature! I came across a lot of people who don't understand what it's good for - it just "cost a click on the mouse", but they don't realize that there are people who have to scan and insert their scans into word everyday and the whole day! those little features are very useful!

Excellent post. That was a very good feature. Keep up the good work.

This is great! I should introduce this to my office. How can people not see the advantage? It saves you so many steps in uploading the documents online!

Anybody know how to convert multiple PDFs to serachable PDFs all at once without have to do them one at a time in eCopy?
Posted by: Nick | June 08, 2010 at 04:42 PM
Yes. Nuance PDF Converter has batch conversion of PDFs to searchable PDFs. Try it for free by using the trial version at http://www.betterpdf.com/

Thanks Bill, but I need to do this in eCopy and not in whole another application. Anybody else know how? Starting to look there isn't a way...
Posted by: Nick | June 10, 2010 at 12:22 PM
Why do you need to do this in eCopy? Both PDF Converter and eCopy are Nuance products.
Posted by: Bill Brikiatis | June 10, 2010 at 12:29 PM
Oh ... ok. So I just get the PDF Converter for free since I have eCopy? thanks
Posted by: Nick | June 14, 2010 at 12:27 PM
Nick -- Now I better understand. You want to batch convert to searchable PDF and don't want to make an additional investment.
eCopy PaperWorks has a batch conversion capability. If you are still using eCopy Desktop and are on maintenance, you can get eCopy PaperWorks for free by contacting the person you bought eCopy from. You can try it for free for 45 days here http://workstationeval.ecopy.com/
If you are not on eCopy maintenance, you will need to buy Nuance PDF Converter or eCopy PaperWorks. Hope this helps.

European shares were flat at midday on Tuesday, close to a 15-month high, with Barclays (BARC.L) leading banks higher on reports it could lift its outlook, but weaker pharmaceutical stocks offset gains.
